The Base du Rocher is situated in the lower part of the valley of the Argens and is the entry point to the hills of the Massif des Maures via the giant Rocher de Roquebrune. It is also an entry point to the hills of the Massif de l’Esteral and the Gorges du Blavet via la Bouverie.

The Base du Rocher is located a few hundred metres from the magnificent and famous red Rock of Roquebrune. Topped by its iconic three crosses, this well-known landmark of the east Var is geological curiosity of incredible beauty and can by explored via number of different routes.
With its stunning red cliffs, perched boulders and pine forests, it is the entry point to the Massif des Maures.
This hike, accompanied by a trained mountain guides, is open to every one of average levels of fitness, from 10 years old upwards. The circuit is of medium difficulty and has few obstacles.

At night a whole new world awakes and all our senses come alive.
As the temperatures lower, nature starts to liberate perfumed aromas from the garrigue and flowers. The crickets start their nightly chirping song, fireflies glow and bats take to the air – we become the spectators of this nightly dance in the fading light.
Lead by our professional guide, you’ll walk the paths around the medieval village of Roquebrune as far as the 18th century aqueduct and its 25 bridges. By torchlight you’re going to have a great night time adventure.
